The rolling Flint Hills of Kansas have year-round beauty. Whether it’s the super-green landscape after a controlled burn, or the red-rust colors of the Fall . . . it is always a gorgeous time to be out in the flint hills.
I was out one Fall morning hoping to experience a sunrise in the Flint Hills. As I sat there with my camera ready to capture the start of the day, an argument ensued. The argument . . . was between winter and summer about which season would prevail on this day. As I sat there with the early morning sun streaming from behind me, a fog began to develop in the draws and valleys. What a show of the awesomeness of nature . . . creating streaks and highlights of light on the red-rust bluestem tallgrass . . . just before the fog overtook them!

AUTHOR
Pat Larkin - I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I began my journey as a photographer. I spent my early years splitting time between Oklahoma and the American West. With those areas as my backdrop, I developed a strong passion for the raw, the natural and the rugged, which always seems to find it’s way into my work.
Regardless of where I am or what I am shooting there seems to always be a strong emotion that each scene evokes. With each subtle change in the scene . . . camera angle, lighting or my choice of lens . . . the original emotion morphs into a different one.
My passion with my photography . . . to capture the raw natural beauty of my subject in such a way that the viewer of my work may experience the same level of emotion that grabs my soul when I am in it’s midst!
I hope you enjoy my work . . . it is an honor sharing it with you!
