The night photo was taken in Korea. In those days, I worked in a restaurant all day until midnight and therefore usually could take a photo after midnight.
The other two photos were taken in France. As I was a truck driver and delivery man in Paris, I spent the better part of a day in the truck. During my working hours, I could look so many passing images through the window.
The environment that I was in was in no condition to take a photo ; it was restrictive and inadequate. But this restrictive life made me imagine beyond seeing. Besides, I became not only independent but free.
Actually, I wanted to empathize and commune with my inadequate life rather than resist it, because every emotion that I felt empathy for something happened to my life became the source of artistic inspiration.
At least, for me, the art itself is my own way of life.
