By urbanization, population growth and climate change nature falls back. That is why the Dutch built an artificial island in the Netherlands to compensate the results of climate change. The first of a natural archipelago of islands.
On less then 50 kilometers from Amsterdam the ‘Marker Wadden’ is going to restore one of the largest freshwater lakes in western Europe by constructing islands, marshes and mud flats from the sediments that have accumulated in the lake in recent decades. These 'Marker Wadden' will form a unique ecosystem that will boost biodiversity in the Netherlands.
Previously Dutch three-masters went to unknown islands the conquer them. Now the Dutch three-masters are welcoming new nature.
To emphasize the issue this panorama photo by helicopter is made with a globe effect.
