In 2015 I went to Athens with the Masters Studio Culture and Identity
at University of the Arts Bremen. I visited some shop owners and employees and we talked about the European Crisis.
In times of the Greek crisis a lot of small shops in Athens are closing. Shop owners and employees are struggling because of a fragile economy. Chris Michos, electrician, is one of the shop owners I portrayed: “If I had more work I could take one or two people with me — but I can’t. I don’t know If I have the same amount of work tomorrow. And I don’t know if I get my money”. His small business is still open.
