Half Awake (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Shot entirely underwater, the series "Naiads/Half awake", shot together with Muse Quartet, explores the idea of a musician's inner world, visible through their art. Inspired by Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" and Hayao Miyazaki's "Laputa, Castle in the Sky".
Part of the ongoing "Weightless Reality" project of underwater photography, focusing on the amazing physics of the underwater medium.
AUTHOR
Coming from a mixed artistic background, Cristiana Apostol is working in the cinematography industry. She is specializing in her main field of interest, underwater artistic model photography, while pursuing her personal photography project, "Weightless Reality".
All her underwater images are shot during apnea - without an oxygen tank, for both models and herself. She uses as little post-processing as possible and relies on experience and the uncontrollable and ephemeral aspect of the medium.
