Cubanacan explores the duality of a city and its people. The city of Habana has been one of the world's most important & culturally rich sea ports for hundreds of years, while the people have been under constant siege by outsiders wanting to either dominate the country or document its obscurity. This series is centered around allowing the beauty, dignity, and complexity of a place to unfold from within.

ourt Loving (1983) is an American photographer born and raised on the Texas-Mexican border. Having been raised in two distinct cultures has deeply influenced Court's perspective and understanding of the world. Court's passion is unraveling life's inherent complexity and beauty with her lens. She gravitates to cultures with layers to peel back and turns to photography as a means to dissect the duality of people and places. She now resides in Austin, Texas.
