Inle Lake, Myanmar (Series)
DESCRIPTION
I visited this place to see the Inle Lake fishermen who are famous for their unusual style of rowing their boat's using their feet. We saw them first in the distance in the early morning mist. I loved the simplicity of their black silhouettes, the sky, the lake and the just-visible mountain behind. There was such a stillness about them as they all peered anxiously in the water - a collective effort to find fish. Pushing the conical net down into the water is also done with the feet - their balance is extraordinary.
